Due to a serious power failure at ASP in Katowice, Poland, a power surge affected their New Media Laboratory and caused significant damage to key parts of the Tonarium. The matrix mixer is no longer responding, and several power supplies have been severely damaged.
It is clear that the necessary repairs will require extensive work, likely including sending parts abroad. It will unfortunately not be possible to restore the system in time for Superbooth.
As a result, Tonarium will have to cancel its participation at SB26. We are deeply sorry for the inconvenience and disappointment this may cause.
Jakub Mokrzysiak ist Produzent, DJ und Sound Engineer aus Schlesien. Er ist Künstlerischer Leiter der Soundscape Foundation und Sounddirektor beim Tonarium – Labor für Neue Medien. Zudem ist er in Lehre und Workshops tätig, die sich auf Sounddesign und -bearbeitung konzentrieren, und hat mit Institutionen wie Medialab Katowice, WSTI und dem Wawel jest Wasz Festival zusammengearbeitet. Als Künstler und Kurator entwickelt er Projekte, die musikalische Praxis, Bildung und neue Technologien verbinden und so das Wachstum der experimentellen und elektronischen Musikszene Polens fördern.
Die Performance findet im Rahmen der Tonarium-Ausstellung statt.
