1. ANTI-DISCRIMINATION STATEMENT
We do not tolerate any form of discrimination, abuse, marginalization, or offensive behavior based on gender or gender identity, ethnicity, religion, origin, skin color, sexual orientation, socio-economic status, disability, body type, age, or other characteristics. SUPERBOOTH firmly opposes all forms of discrimination. We also do not tolerate violent, abusive, or harassing behavior—whether verbal, physical, sexual, or in any other form—toward visitors, exhibitors, partners, or staff. In cases of violations of the above conduct, our policy follows a case-by-case approach, meaning each situation is evaluated individually and appropriate measures are taken to address the matter properly.
2. OUR VISION AND THE ATMOSPHERE WE STRIVE FOR
SUPERBOOTH believes in the importance of a united, global community in the world of electronic musical instruments and sound innovation. We are committed to a diverse, inclusive, and forward-looking industry that is based on experimentation, respect, freedom of expression, and innovation.
More than just a trade fair and festival, SUPERBOOTH is a symbiosis of innovation, creativity, and community—a friendly, open space where everyone can freely pursue their interests in electronic instruments and sounds, exchange ideas, and express themselves without disruption or discrimination.
We actively aim to create an environment where all participants can enjoy, explore, and engage with the event without fear, discrimination, or discomfort.
Our vision for SUPERBOOTH includes an atmosphere of:
- Creativity and collaboration: Participants should feel inspired to exchange ideas, explore new musical horizons, and collaborate with others in a positive, supportive environment.
- Inclusivity and diversity: Participants and exhibitors from all backgrounds and with diverse experiences are warmly welcomed. All forms of diversity—including gender, ethnicity, religion, origin, skin color, belief, sexuality, gender identity, socio-economic class, disability, age, and more—are respected.
- Respect for boundaries: Interactions at SUPERBOOTH should always be consensual and respectful. All participants should be mindful of personal boundaries and the space of others, whether exchanging about instruments, networking, or attending performances.
This welcoming atmosphere is a core element of SUPERBOOTH, and it is essential that participants help to maintain and support it.
3. PRINCIPLES FOR A RESPECTFUL AND INCLUSIVE ENVIRONMENT
SUPERBOOTH is committed to promoting respectful interactions among all participants, fostering a positive and welcoming environment.
The following principles guide behavior and help promote respectful interactions:
- Respect and dignity: Treat everyone with respect, dignity, and kindness, regardless of cultural background, appearance, orientation, beliefs, or abilities.
- Consent is essential: Always obtain explicit consent before initiating physical contact or addressing sensitive topics. Pay attention to verbal and non-verbal cues.
- Respect personal boundaries: Honor others’ personal space, both physically and in conversation. If someone feels uncomfortable, stop the interaction immediately.
- Inclusive language: Use language that is inclusive and welcoming. Avoid making assumptions about people based on appearance, gender identity, or background.
- Responsibility: Everyone can contribute to a respectful environment—by taking responsibility for their own behavior and interactions with others. If you have hurt someone, take responsibility: apologize, reflect on why your behavior was harmful, and consciously learn how to avoid repeating it.
- Support an inclusive environment: Help strive for a safer space for all by reporting harassment, inappropriate behavior, or anything that makes you or others feel uncomfortable.
4. AWARENESS AT SUPERBOOTH
Awareness means being conscious of the experiences, needs, and boundaries of others, and creating an atmosphere in which everyone feels respected and comfortable. We want every person to peacefully follow their own interests in electronic instruments and sounds and enjoy the event without being disturbed or discriminated against. Clear guidelines and an accessible Awareness Team help prevent conflicts and encourage participants to speak up if they feel uncomfortable or treated inappropriately.
Awareness is a central part of SUPERBOOTH’s culture. Only in a respectful and appreciative environment can creativity, exchange, and innovation thrive. By honoring the needs of all participants, we create an atmosphere where everyone feels welcome and can experience the event to its full potential.
5. OUR AWARENESS TEAM
The Awareness Team works to foster a positive and supportive environment for all participants. It is specially trained to support people who feel uncomfortable, threatened, harassed, disrespected, or have experienced discrimination.
The Awareness Team works according to clear principles:
- Consent: Actions require explicit consent – only “yes” means yes.
- Participant-centered approach: When contacting the team, the needs of the affected person are the focus. The team supports them to feel safe and comfortable at the event again.
- Autonomy: Every person decides for themselves about their body, their identity, and what has happened to them.
- Support: The team respects the decisions of the affected person and acts within its capacity to provide the best possible help.
- Confidentiality: Sensitive incidents are always treated confidentially and are only shared with others after consultation with the affected person.
