Katharina Bévand
Katharina Bévand is a Berlin-based sound artist working with site-specific, spatial, and multichannel sound installations, resonating sound sculptures, and live modular synthesizer performances. From Experimental Electronic Music to Sound Art, her practice explores the interplay between sound, space, and perception, creating immersive and deep-listening experiences.
She has exhibited and performed in unconventional spaces such as water reservoirs, breweries, industrial sites, hammams and churches—seeking out unique acoustics, resonances and atmospheres, that create embodied listening experiences.
Her sound oscillates between Drone, Industrial, Ambient. She obtained a honorary mention by the bonn hoeren – sonotopia award from the Beethoven Foundation for Arts and Culture Bonn in 2017 and participated at Madou Sugar Art Triennale(Taiwan), 90 Years Broadcasting House Festival, Dystopie Festival, Goldrausch Project for Women Artists, EMS Studio for Electroacoustic Music / ADK, and the Braunschweig Projects, among others.
She co-curates the festival Mapping Sounds in Exile.
