Perera Elsewhere
DJ-Set
Multi-award-winning experimental pop artist Sasha Perera aka Perera Elsewhere is a producer, musician, songwriter and DJ acclaimed by Pitchfork, NPR, BBC, FADER, Vogue and KCRW.
Blending voice, trumpet, bass and sound design with existential themes, she developed the sound early press dubbed “Doom-Folk.” On LA label Friends of Friends, she released three albums marking a steady sonic evolution, drawing comparisons to Mica Levi, Dean Blunt, Jon Hassell and Massive Attack.
Her path runs from London’s club scene to Berlin’s experimental underground, shaping a fluid, genre-defying approach. She has performed and DJed at Berghain, the Guggenheim, Hamburg Philharmonic, Sónar and Boiler Room.
Her music has been licensed for Ava DuVernay’s Queen Sugar, Paolo Sorrentino’s Loro, and Apple’s M2 campaign. She also composes for film, theatre and audiovisual works, including projects for Bass Museum Miami (2022) and ZKM Karlsruhe (2024).
Alongside her solo work, she has worked with and produced for artists including Nina Hagen (four songs on her 2023 album). She won “Best Act” at the VIA Awards 2022 and received Sony Music Germany’s Female Producer Award in 2024. Perera also leads workshops and mentoring for Ableton, Native Instruments, Yale and Berlin University of the Arts, and collaborates internationally with the British Council and Goethe-Institut.
