Maarten Vos is a Dutch cellist, composer and producer based in Berlin. During his musical development Vos explored not only traditional classical music but also showed a big interest in minimalist, contemporary and experimental music. He focuses his work on the creation of composing modern classical, ambient and electronic music where he transforms traditional instrumentation into newfangled sounds with an exploratory approach to the cello combined with modular synthesizers and other electronic instruments. Vos has performed at various places around the world such as Le Guess Who? and MUTEK, Paris.

Outside of his solo career he has also collaborated in different disciplines on music with Julianna Barwick, Colin Benders, Deadbeat, Joep Beving, Sebastian Plano, Alex Smoke, Asko Schönberg, fashion designer Iris van Herpen, digital/visual artists Maotik and Christopher Bauder, and contemporary dance companies. He has also collaborated in technology with spatial sound company 4DSOUND, creative-instrument company Slate + Ash and more. He produced and mixed albums for various artists on labels such as Deutsche Grammophon, Universal and 1631 Records. Due to his impressive resume and focus on experimental synthesis he makes for a natural fit at this year’s Superbooth.
